Theres probably some setting somewhere to allow auto startup, but I would never allow it. I never allow the insertion of some media (SD/CD/USB/DVD, etc) to start an app. I can’t be the only person to have experienced this. On a PC, just open Start and find your Mazda app folder, then start Mazda Toolbox. I work in tech and I’m def more proficient with technology than average people so I’m just wondering how the average person handles this. One guy there seems to know what’s up but my advisor kept saying that the updates must be done with a USB when the directions on mazdausa don’t say anything about that. They’re on Amazon for much less but they wouldn’t tell me whether that replacement would work.ĭealership 2 knew little else. They offered me a new SD card for 499.99. The folks at dealership 1 not only tried to overcharge but those guys literally knew nothing about the infotainment system and couldn’t explain how it’s supposed to work for the end user. It’s as though they put out version 1 of their software and never touch it again. Is there anything I can do to remedy this myself?Īs a rant, I can’t believe how difficult Mazda makes this.

These are the steps I took to attempt the update:ġ) I removed the SD card from my car and put it in my computer’s SD slot.Ģ) I downloaded the map update software Toolbox from Mazda USAĤ) Balked and rolled by eyes at the price to upgrade (seriously WTF).ħ) Got “not enough free space on disk” error.Ĩ) Dragged existing files from SD card to desktop.ĩ) Mazda software no longer recognizes SD card.ġ0) Attempted to reinstall files from desktop back to SD.ġ2) Googled troubleshooting. The Infotainment/navigation worked fine until recently when I attempted to update the maps since I relocated to an area where I’m not only unfamiliar but has also grown/changed rapidly in recent years and found the maps to be incorrect pretty frequently.
